First Friday Riverfest Sponsor

  • Demographics — Combining the business crowds, families and young adults.
  • Attendance — approximately 50,000
  • Event Logistics — All opening day events take place in downtown Wichita.
  • Event Description — This sponsorship includes Grand Opening Ceremony, Sundown Parade and Opening Night Concert & Fireworks and allows a company the opportunity to sponsor the entire kick-off day of Riverfest. With the opportunity comes great media exposure, opportunity to sample a product, and ways to involve employees and customers though volunteering and hospitality benefits.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $50,000

Opening Night Concert & Fireworks

  • Demographics — Mostly adults and young adults (age 12 to 54)
  • Attendance — approximately 6,000
  • Event Logistics — Downtown Wichita on the West Bank stage.
  • Event Description — The opening night concert and fireworks is the highly anticipated open-air concert. You’ve seen DAUGHTRY, Nick Lachey and Colbie Caillat on Opening Night of Riverfest. The 2009 show featuring a “crossover artist” won’t disappoint you and the concert concludes with a fireworks finale. Admission is a Riverfest button and $10.

Block Party

  • Demographics — all ages and socioeconomic levels
  • Attendance — 30,000 - 60,000
  • Event Logistics — Douglas Ave. at Century II
  • Event Description — The largest “block party” in town with food, children’s activities and entertainment on four stages and the Oldies Concert on Kennedy Plaza.
  • Investment to Sponsor: (with concert) $35,000

Block Party Oldies Concert

  • Demographics — Adults 35—65, all socioeconomic levels
  • Attendance — 8,500 — 10,000,
  • Event Logistics — Kennedy Plaza at Century II
  • Event Description — Oldies hits from the original artists dominate center stage at the Block Party where baby boomers and younger enjoy great rock n’ roll.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $20,000

Big Easy

  • Demographics — All socioeconomic levels and ages, mostly adult
  • Attendance — Approximately 8,500 at the concert.
  • Event Logistics — Downtown Wichita, Kennedy Plaza at Century II
  • Event Description — Music lovers won’t leave until the last notes wane at this Riverfest concert. Past performers include Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Joseph Vincelli.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $15,000

Décor Sponsor

  • Demographic — Seen and experienced by the thousands of festival attendees who attend Riverfest.
  • Description — The visual image created as people attend and participate in events is an important element of their recurring memories and overall impression of the activity. The Wichita River Festival entry and the banners hung on Century II are designed to help create a visual image of the festival. New components could include gobo lighting, wallscapes on buildings surrounding Century II and themed decor for specific events, all used for multiple years and acknowledging the sponsor.

Riverfest Comfort Station Sponsor

  • Demographic — All Riverfest attendees ages;
  • Description — The Riverfest Comfort Station will be located in a 20’ x 40’ tent and open all nine days of the Festival. The comfort station will feature fans, chairs and any other hospitality items provided by the sponsor. Sponsorship of this unique new festival feature includes on-site presence all nine days of the Festival; display space inside the tent where the sponsor can share information about their product or service and provide giveaways.

Riverfest Merchandise Program Sponsorship

  • Demographics — 8,000 unique shoppers (minimum 8,000 impressions) All ages and socio-economic levels; primarily mid to lower socioeconomic level
  • Description — “Official” Riverfest merchandise is developed each year based on the poster artwork theme. It is sold at Wichita Festivals, Inc., on the Riverfest web site on-line store and during Riverfest at three locations: adjacent to the Century II food court; at Cessna Kids’ Korner; and, at the west bank stage concert area. Sponsorship of the Merchandise Program provides a unique branding opportunity for a business, incorporating a sponsors’ identity and goals into Riverfest apparel and program initiatives.

Sundown Parade

  • Demographics — Mostly families with guests from all socio—economic levels.
  • Attendance — approximately 40,000 spectators watch more than 100 parade entries.
  • Event Logistics — 1 mile parade route through downtown Wichita.
  • Event Description — The party begins in downtown Wichita as the floats parade by showcasing their creativity with this years’ theme! Find a spot and relax while floats, marching bands, clowns and inflatables entertain you.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $15,000

U G2G Concert

  • Demographics — All socioeconomic levels and ages, specifically geared to ages 8 to 13, and their parents.
  • Attendance — Approximately 1,500
  • Event Logistics — Downtown Wichita, West Bank Stage
  • Event Description — U G2G (You Got To Go) It’s the place for Tweens 2 B. The concert will feature nationally known young pop artists and will appeal to the “tween crowd”. This is a perfect opportunity to market to this young crowd who are starting to make their own purchasing decisions.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $15,000

VIP Thank You Party

  • Demographic — Adults and families of all ages and ethnicities. Invitations are mailed to business decision makers among the companies that sponsor Riverfest events.
  • Attendance — Approximately 600 people attend annually.
  • Description — Held as a thank you for sponsors and others who make the festival possible, invitations are extended several weeks prior to Riverfest to decision makers in sponsoring companies and government entities. Sponsor of the event would be recognized in all print materials, have the opportunity to greet and welcome guests and provide “gifts” to attendees as desired.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $15,000

Button Package Sponsor

  • Demographic — Anyone who purchases Riverfest buttons packages.
  • Description — Approximately 180,000 colorful Riverfest button packages are produced annually using an adaptation of the poster artwork theme. The package includes a Riverfest button, Festival Guide and valuable sponsor coupons as applicable. It is sold at over 150 retail locations in Wichita and surrounding areas from early April through Riverfest. It is also sold via direct mail to organizations, corporations and groups prior to the festival and is seen during the three month period in which it’s promoted, by hundreds of thousands of people.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $10,000

Club 225 Comedy Show

  • Demographics — All socioeconomic levels and geared toward the young adult ages of 21 to 34.
  • Attendance — Approximately 2,000
  • Event Logistics — Downtown Wichita, indoors at Century II Convention Hall
  • Event Description — This isn’t your typical Riverfest event, join your friends at Club 225 for an edgy adult comedy show.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $10,000

Food Court Ticket Sponsor

  • Demographic — Men, women, children of all ages and ethnicities.
  • Attendance — Approximately 40,000 unique purchasers of food court tickets
  • Description — Annually, more than 2 million tickets are sold for use in Riverfest food courts. Tickets are sold in books of $20 or in strips. The opportunity is available for a company to sponsor the food court ticket with their company name and/or sponsorship offer on the back of each ticket. Festival attendees could take their left over tickets to the sponsoring company and redeem for goods or services at a value to be determined by the sponsor. In addition to recognition on the tickets, the sponsor would have signage at the food court, be recognized on the food court page of the festival guide and benefit from the traffic generated in their store locations.

Information Booth Sponsor

  • Demographic — all ages and all socio-economic levels and cultures.
  • Description — Riverfest information booths are used to provide guests with directions, instruction and answers to questions. Information booths are located in high traffic areas where festival goers can easily identify them and find helpful information. Sponsor employees could serve as volunteers in the booths wearing company apparel to provide recognition of the sponsoring company. Give-aways and other promotions could also be developed to bring benefit to the sponsor.

Musica Latina

  • Demographics — All socioeconomic levels and ages and is specifically geared to our Hispanic Community. In 2008, attendees came from all over Kansas, specifically from Southwest Kansas.
  • Attendance — Approximately 3,000
  • Event Logistics — Downtown Wichita on the West Bank area.
  • Event Description —This concert event features great Latin music from nationally known and respected artists. In 2008 you experienced the orquesta Tejana (Texas orchestra) tradition — two-time Grammy award—winning Little Joe & La Familia! This year’s performance will surely delight audiences from all walks of life.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $10,000

Retail Button Outlet Sponsor

  • Demographic — Anyone who purchases buttons at retail locations.
  • Description — Serve as a major retail button sales outlet for Riverfest buttons prior to and during the festival using promotional material provided by WFI. Sponsor outlets are encouraged to develop and execute an in—store marketing plan, developed in conjunction with the WFI marketing team, to promote sales of the button. A four-week marketing campaign, valued at approximately $140,000 uses radio, TV and print media to identify each major retail outlet.

Sponsorship Program Underwriter

  • Demographic — decision makers in sponsoring companies. Great B2B opportunity.
  • Attendance — Annually there are approximately 160—200 companies who support Riverfest.
  • Description — This sponsorship provides a company the opportunity to get in front of businesses in and around Wichita through the WFI sponsorship program. Sponsor recognition would be in all print material, through testimonials used in print and on the web site, in sponsor thank you gifts and all other facets of the WFI Sponsorship Program.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $10,000

Tot Trot

  • Demographics — Families with pre-school and school age children. Also includes families and children who participate in sporting or fitness events.
  • Attendance — There are approximately 300 child participants, but you can add an several thousand adults who watch the race as well.
  • Event Logistics — Race takes place immediately following the Bank of America River Run on the Douglas Street Bridge.
  • Event Description —Tot Trot is a foot race for children, age 2 to 7, which is run in heats of approximately 6 children. Each child who crosses the finish line will receive a medallion. All the marketing and promotion done for the Bank of America River Run (with more than 6700 runners) also includes Tot Trot. This event also includes a t-shirt contest which is spearheaded by our office and is marketed through the public grade schools in Wichita.

Button Package Insert Sponsor

  • Demographic — All ages.
  • Description — Insert a coupon or message inside the button package and get in front of thousands of buttons purchasers. Approximately 180,000 buttons are packaged annually and sold in 150+ retail locations. Create an insert to promote your business to thousands of people and drive traffic to your location. The offer is created based on the sponsors target and sales initiatives.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $5,000

Dodge Ball

  • Demographics — Young adults, men and women, ages 15—40
  • Attendance — 52 six member teams participated in 2008 with hundreds of spectators lining the street to watch.
  • Event Logistics — Main Street between William and English
  • Event Description — This unique fast paced recreational activity attracts competitive individuals of all ages. Six member teams participate in double elimination games by age group.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $5,000

Poster Artwork Sponsor

  • Demographic — The art is seen by thousands of people of all ages, sex and cultures in everything related to Riverfest.
  • Description — The Riverfest Poster is unveiled in January prior to the festival and receives wide-spread acknowledgement as the symbol of the festival that year. The poster is sold through WFI and the Riverfest web store prior to the festival and at all festival souvenir store locations during the festival. This is a unique opportunity to brand a sponsor with Riverfest. The Riverfest poster sets the tone for the overall Festival and is enjoyed year-round by attendees. Businesses and individuals collect the poster year after year and hang them with pride in their business or residence.

Riverfest Flea Market

  • Demographics — all ages and ethnicities
  • Attendance — 3,000—5,000
  • Event Logistics — Douglas and Main, all day second Saturday
  • Event Description — Booths filled with a variety of one-of-a-kind items, originals and the unexpected line Douglas Avenue and Main Street on the last day of the festival.
  • Investment to Sponsor $5,000

Admirals’ Pancake Feed

  • Demographics — All socioeconomic levels and ages
  • Attendance — Nearly 550 participants in 2008
  • Event Logistics — The event takes place on the balcony of an office building overlooking Douglas and River Run activities.
  • Event Description — Enjoy pancakes and coffee near the finish of the Bank of America River Run. Guests have breakfast with current and past Admiral Windwagon Smiths.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $2,500

Grand Opening Ceremony

  • Demographics — Mostly business crowd of all socio-economic levels that come to the Century II food court on the first day of the festival.
  • Attendance — 2,000
  • Event Logistics — Food Court Stage at Century II
  • Event Description — Announcements featuring festival officials, city and community leaders and Admiral Windwagon Smith take place and signify the official start of Riverfest. Media is generally on-hand to cover the event and it serves as a great opportunity for exposure for company officials or employees.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $2,500

Wichita Festivals, Inc. Festivities Newsletter

  • Demographics — All socioeconomic levels and ages, including WFI volunteers, committee members, past Admirals, board members, Festival Crew members, media affiliates, sponsors, etc.
  • Description — WFI’s Festivities newsletter is published quarterly and mailed to approximately 4,000 households and businesses each issue. It is an opportunity for a sponsor to incorporate a direct mail initiative in their marketing mix. Sponsorship of this award—winning newsletter offers opportunities to share a sponsor message with potential customers.
  • Investment: One issue of Festivities, $2500; all four issues, $7,500.

Cessna Kids’ Korner

  • Demographics — Mostly families and younger children.
  • Attendance — 30,000
  • Event Logistics — A. Price Woodard Park, between Century II and the river bank.
  • Event Description — The Cessna Kids Korner is an area packed with fun for children of all ages. Among the carnival rides and inflatables, sponsored by Cessna, your company can sponsor events that range from a one day activity to nine day presence.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $2,500 to $10,000

VIP Hospitality Chalet

  • Demographic — All ages and ethnicities would have the opportunity to utilize the VIP concert area and would vary by concert from young teens to baby boomers, depending on the type of music being offered.
  • Attendance — Concert attendance varies from 3,000 to 20,000 depending on the genre’ of music. The number of people using the VIP area would vary accordingly.
  • Description — A VIP area would be created at the venue of each major concert and would include a tent for shade, chairs and refreshments. The VIP Concert Chalet area would be designated for use by Riverfest sponsors, Festival Crew members and for individuals who purchase a “pass” to enter the area. Sponsor of the VIP area would have signage to acknowledge their involvement on—site and any printed passes would include the sponsor logo and any other offer sponsor wishes to provide. Sponsor employees could be utilized as hosts in the area if desired and provide giveaways to attendees.
  • Investment: $10,000 for the entire festival or $2500 for an individual concert.
  • Investment to Sponsor: $2,500 to $10,000

Portrait with the Admiral

  • Demographics — children and adults of all ages
  • Attendance — 250 to 300 people
  • Event Logistics — Douglas Ave. at Century II, Friday 6:30 pm — 8:00 pm
  • Event Description — Pictures with Admiral Windwagon Smith and the Windwagon create a lasting memento of Riverfest!
  • Investment to Sponsor: $1,500
